Poetry By Heart is a pioneering national competition designed to encourage pupils aged 14-18 and at schools and colleges in England to learn and recite poems by heart.

Following on from the success of last year's debut competition our clients at Full English wanted to take the opportunity to refine the online presence with a new responsively designed website, trebling the number of poems in the anthology and delivering a number of new features that build on the success of the previous version. 

The popular timeline has made a return and now includes filters to help you narrow down your selections or you can choose the random option if you're in favour of a serendipitous approach. To mark the centenary of the outbreak of the First World War, this year's competition features a new twist with the finalists having to memorise and recite a poem from the new First World War showcase and the site content is generally richer with video and recordings from last year's finals.
